Have you ever looked at pearl necklaces and thought, "Gee, I wish I could have one of those!" Do you know how to thread objects? Do you have a craft store near you? Then you can have a pearl necklace of your own!
Now, I know what you're thinking: "I can't afford pearls! Are you crazy??" But guess what? You can! In most craft stores, you can find strings of very affordable pearls. Freshwater pearls, so named because they come from freshwater bivalves, are an inexpensive option for making your own, individualized pearl necklace. These pearls are just as lustrous and beautiful as the saltwater kind, providing you the perfect building block for your one-of-a-kind necklace - just look at the picture, and you'll see what I mean. They come in a variety of colors; if you can't find all the colors you need, you can check on the Internet (eBay is a great option!!). The craft stores also have pre-strung needles with silk thread you can use for stringing the pearls on - silk works the best for pearls. You can make a beautiful original necklace, one you'll be proud to wear, for less than the cost of those expensive pearl necklaces you see in stores. And the best part is, you'll have made it yourself! Try it and see what I mean!
