How do you know if the Mauna Loa Macadamia Nuts purchased on eBay are fresh?
Most Mauna Loa products have a freshness code printed right on the bags and cans. This code represents the time the product retains "Peak Freshness." Once these products pass this date, the taste is affected and the nuts will taste stale. Storage conditions also affect the freshness time. For example: if the products are stored in a warm, non air conditioned facility, the "Peak Freshness" time could be reduced.
The last 2 digits of the code are a number and a letter. This code is found on the back of the resealable bags and on the bottom of the cans. The number is the year and the letter is the month.
Back of Bag - Fresh through January 2011
Bottom of Can - Fresh though August 2011
