Audio books are great for kids on long car or plane trips. You might think that your child would not be interested in these because he or she doesn't enjoy books. But these are not books! These are books being read by actors and actresses and other professional storytellers.  Kids on a long car trip might get tired of their electronic games  or conventional books. I suggest adding some audio books which the whole family can listen to in the car's cd player.

Did you know you can get audio books for free??? Libraries now carry a wide selection of audio books which can be checked out for free or even downloaded to an MP3 player. Some can even be transferred to a CD for personal use. This can all be done through the library's website!

To see what I mean, check out the Orange County Public Library (California) online, then check with your local library to see if they offer the same service.

Of course you can also purchase audio books. I would suggest check some out at the library first. If you enjoy them, then purchase them.
