Do you know that you can extend your listing from a 1 day to a 3 day listing for free?

Once your listing  is created and live on eBay, you now the option of updating it as long as it falls in the following criteria.  In order to advance your auction for a longer period for FREE, it must have no bids and have more than 12 hours left before it ends.  I will repeat that to be sure that you have absorbed it. Your auction must have NO Bids and have MORE THAN 12 hours left in order to extend it. Let me show you an example and then you can try it with one of your auctions.

EXAMPLE:  You create a 3 day, a 5 day and a 7 day auction. You are reviewing your auctions a few days later.  Your 3 day auction has about 16 hours left, you 5 day has 2 1/2 days left and your 7 day has more than 4 days left. To extend your 3 day auction that has NO BIDS, you would simply click on the auction link within your seller manager pages and click on the revise option. Once it opens the auction for your revision, simply scroll down towards the bottom of the page and change the auction length to 5 days.  This will immediately extend your auction at no cost to you.

When is it best to extend your auctions? Well, you should not extend every single auction. This defeats the purpose of trying to get the most traffic from the last few hours of your auction by having it displaying on the first page in the results. However, back to the 3 day auction... Once you extend it, it will now be placed relatively close to your 5 day auction. And if you were thinking ahead, you would have set the price of the 5 day auction a little higer than the 3 day auction. Now your 3 day and 5 day are relatively close in the results and the lower one will have a greater chance of getting a bid this time around in the results.

Another tip... Also, be sure to note the amount of watchers on your auction when you extend it.
If you have 1 or a few, they will see that you have extended your auction and may respond faster with a bid in fear that they may miss the next closing day.

SECOND TIP:  Your sales page is the most important part of your auction. Once you have the customer on your page, you have less than 3 seconds to get them to mingle a little longer.  The longer they stay, the greater the chance of them making a purchase.  Make them stay longer by viewing all of your detailed images.  If you know computer languages and HTML, you can add them yourself for free. THIRD TIP:  Any seller who does not utilize this valuable tool will limit their success potential.

Ebay sellers receive up to 75 percent of their final Value fees back when someone is directed to your Ebay store from a link outside of Ebay.  For example, a customer finds your Ebay store address link on another website or search engine that you are advertising on and follows it to your store. Once the customers finds an item in your store and purchases it, this sale is qualified for the 75% refund.  How can you lose? It is like running your store for free.

FOURTH TIP:  If you do not have this, create it today!

Ebay allows you to advertise your favorite website links in ONLY one place on Ebay, and that is on your ABOUT ME/ MY WORLD page.  If you do not have this page yet, be sure to create it today.  The About Me page allows you to tell your customers more about you, your company and your products or services. It also allows you to place links to websites outside of Ebay. As you learn more about marketing, you will learn just how important linking to other websites is for your business success, growth and search engine rankings.  Linking to other websites help the search engines in finding your Ebay store or website.

REMEMBER: You can only place links to stores outside of Ebay on your About Me page, absolutely no where else or you will be alerted by Ebay of your breaking the rules. And you must follow the rules in doing so. When you open the page to create your About Me page, you will see and area towards the bottom that is dedicated to allowing you to enter links outside of Ebay.

You can point to your favorite Web addresses and give names to links.

You may also read the About Me page policy.  Be sure to click on the SHOW link on the right side of the page and next to the additional info text.

ALSO NOTE: You may NOT add any text next to the link that persuades the Ebayer to follow the link away from Ebay. Simply place the link as a favorite.

As a somewhat savvy business owner, I have learned the following methods of safe surfing and online transactions.
PLEASE BE AWARE: Scammers are sending fake emails pretending to be real websites that you are registered on. Scammers do this with great ability and make these emails look authentic.  They do this only to get you to click on a link inside the email while they watch you enter your sign on and password. Once they see you type in this info, they have access and will deplete your funds overnight while you sleep.

I to, fell for this in the first few days onsite and the scammer used my paypal account to list bogus auctions. In hopes that he would sell and get paid then transfer the funds before I noticed that anything was wrong. IT HAPPENS.....

NEVER sign into to ANY account through an email link. Simply go directly to that websites main page, ie: paypal.com, ebay.com and sign in.  If the suspect email in not inside your account in your messages, it was an attempt to scam you.
