Compare A Franchise Business To An eBay Business

Last night I was hanging out reading the latest US Franchising magazine to see what types of businesses were being franchised. Just reading it gave me horror shivers and I'll tell you why.

For example.

You can invest $38,000 and own an 'oven cleaning business.' Great. But wait...there's more. Of course on top of the $38K, you've got to buy a Holden Combo Van which you can either lease or buy. No doubt that wouldn't be cheap. Maybe over $25,000?

Then they say that the top 3 attributes you must have are..

1. A desire to be your own boss.
2. Be self motivated.
3. Enjoy meeting people.

Well, of course anyone looking to get into their own business would fit into the category above right?

Then it says that each Franchise should be able to turnover $100,000 in their first year as long as they stick to the proven plan.

Of course. A plan is always good. And does that mean you've just 'bought yourself a job?'

(Jeez, $100,000 turnover sounds like a lot of dirty ovens to clean. Now I'm really feeling sick.)

Here's the thing. The thought of paying out around $63,000 + ongoing fees and charges to clean someone's stinking stove, microwave oven or barby makes me feel sick. It's not what I could see myself doing with a smile on my face day after day after day... (What do you think?)

And here's why.

You can get started on eBay for $0.00. Lovely. There's no ongoing Franchise fees, cars to lease, poxy ovens to clean or the never-ending stress of finding customers. And best of all, with eBay, you'll have a never-ending supply of hungry customers sitting at their computers with credit card in hand.

(if you sell the right stuff that is.)

Gorgeous isn't it?

Not only that...if you want to turn over less than $100,000 or MORE than $100,000 in your first year selling on eBay, well that's simple too. YOU get to turnover whatever you want depending on how much effort you put in and what it is you're selling.

Why would anyone want to fork out hundreds and thousands of dollars buying a Franchise when you can make more money on eBay? (once you know what you're doing of course.)

I read these Franchise mags all the time and it never ceases to amaze me how happy and grateful I am that I've discovered the power of the eBay platform.

Of course, if cleaning ovens is your bag, then stop reading now. But if you're on the same page as me and don't even want to clean YOUR OWN cruddy oven, then you'd better come and see what we do on eBay to make the money we do every day.

It's an emergency!

Do it now and here's the link for you.

I'll see you on February 10th at the McEbay day. Hopefully NOT in your oven cleaning clothes though :-)
