Fox Stamp was a legitimate badge company, however they didn't produce the old west brass badges that are so often seen here on ebay, at swap meets and flea markets.
The hallmark on the fantasy brass badges will often include the outline of a fox.
These badges were produced by International Engineering in Wilmington California from the 70s through the 90s for the collector market, and wholesaled at around $1.00 and retailed from 3 to 5 dollars. Most will bear some highly collectible title like Texas Ranger or San Francisco Vigilante.
Like so many replica badges they have become somewhat desireable in the collector market as they haven't been made in so many years.
