Not all skin is created equal and whether you require a skin-perfecting primer or a natural-looking foundation...your skin can look flawless with just a few simple steps. Keep in mind healthy skin starts from within, so drink plenty of water, sleep 8 hours and eat right.
Next you will need to determine what your skin type is. Are you oily, dry, aging, sensitive, combination or just right? When you have determined this and found your proper skincare regimen perfection is possible.
Now that your skincare regimen is in place decide on what type of coverage you are looking for: Sheer - just to even out your skin; Full - to cover imperfections or Medium - to even out just slight imperfections.
Next you will need to find your perfect shade. Place three shades that look closest to your skintone on your jawline - the one that disappears is your perfect match.
Now the easy part - choosing your foundation type. There are five types of foundation.
Primer - this is usually clear and can be worn under a foundation or alone and will keep your makeup in place all day.
Concealer - this is the only real way to cover imperfections. It comes in many shades - green conceals red imperfections, purple conceals yellow undertones, apricot conceals veins/sunspots. There are also traditional shades of concealer and light diffusing concealers that work great under eyes.
Foundation - the ultimate way to achieve flawless skin - comes in mineral, liquid and creme.
Powder - great for over a primer or foundation for an airbrushed finish.
Tinted Moisturizer - a moisturizer and foundation in one - less coverage and great for dry skin.
You are now just a brush, sponge or dab away from perfectly flawless skin!
