I bought a window air conditioner from Fortuna Enterprises in 2004...it took so long to ship that it arrived after the last hot day of the year and went into the basement without being opened. The following summer, I did open the box only to discover that the frame with the window closure panels that was included does not FIT this air conditioner. I looked locally for the correct frame via an appliance parts store here and they ended up ordering the wrong item. I made countless phone calls to Fortuna Enterprises that were answered by a machine that, each time, told me how important my call was to them, but no one ever picked up the phone, at any hour, and there was no way to leave a message. So the air conditioner went back in the basement again...
This summer I brought up the air conditioner from the basement again as this weekend promised to be (and was) 100+ degree here in the Northwest. My boyfriend and I concocted a set up with a piece of wood to close up the gap created by the wrong-sized window frame that was sent with the AC Unit. We were able to finally mount the air conditioner unit in the window, lower the sash and close off the open space around the AC...only to discover that the air conditioner's fan DOESN'T WORK AT ALL...the cooling unit goes on but nothing moves the cold air out!
So much for creating a little cool spot on a very hot day.
Fortuna Enterprises (fortunaenterprises) are not reliable vendors, they have no intention of standing behind the products they sell...and apparently others have had lots of difficulty with them as well. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY!!!
Best regards,
