                   Wine and Food Pairing Guide

Many times we are asked what kind of wine to select with certain food. The chart below is a guide for matching a wine to a particular food.The chart below is only GUIDE for matching a wine to particular foods. Fortunately, people have different tastes and not everyone agrees with the experts. The most important criteria in selecting the correct wine is how you personally like it. Be adventurous, try different wines with different foods, and soon, you will create your own chart. Most imporrtantly, enjoy the wine and food together.

Cabernet Sauvignon: 

A heavy wine with flavors of herbs, bell pepper, red fruits and chocolate. Goes very well with Roast Chicken, Roast Beef, Roast Lamb, Duck and Goose.

Merlot:

A medium body wine with flavors of red fruits, pine forest and cherries. Goes excellent with Roast Chicken, Roast Beef, Roast Lamb, Duck and Goose.

Pinot Noir: 

Light to medium body with flavors of spicy clovers, geranium and black cherries. Pair it with Turkey, Roast beef and sausage.

Zinfandel: 

Medium to heavy body with flavors of berries, briar and black pepper. Turkey, Roast Beef and sausage stuffing match this wine.

Chardonnay: 

 Medium to heavy white whine with flavors of apple, pear, tropical fruit, vanilla and spice. Match with shellfish, cream soups, rich fish dishes and vegatable side dishes.

Riesling: 

A light wine with flavors of flowers, peaches and melons. Excellent with asian foods, ham, chicken, turkey and cheese.

Sauvignon Blanc: 

 Light to Medium wine with grassy, vegetal and tropical fruit taste. Goes well with shellfish, cream soups, rich irsh dishes and vegetable side dishes.
