Florence Ceramics were produced in the '40s and '50s in Pasadena California. The quality of the ware and the attention given to detail has prompted a growing interest among today's collectors. The names of the lovely ladies, gents, and figural groups are nearly always incised into their bases. The company name is ink stamped. Prices are evaluated by size, rarity, and intricacy of design.
Florence Ceramics Inc. was founded by Florence Wade of Pasadena California who, in her home began crafting tiny ceramic people as a hobby. She began to hire a staff and move into a factory in order to produce many of the lovely ware that are sought after today.
The company closed in the '70s after a period of producing other ceramic pieces. Some other pieces are dinner ware and ashtrays.
