Foundation and Finishing Powder
Tap a small amount of powder into the top and swirl your brush into it. Tap the bottom of the handle with the brush head facing upward on a hard surface (i.e., bathroom counter). This settles the powder into the brush head (we call this loading the brush). Firmly buff powder on clean, moisturized skin to evenly blend pigments. For blemishes, a separate concealer is no needed. Use a concealer brush or your finger tip to apply small amounts to the problem area then blend well with your foundation brush.
For those with dry, flaky skin, loose mineral foundation can be blended with moisturizer to create a cream foundation. First moisturize as usual and then tap a small amount of powder into the palm of your hand. Add a drop of moisturizer. Blend the two products together until a smooth, creamy consistency is achieved. Use your fingers or makeup wedge to apply.
Color Corrector Concealers
Dot concealer on under eye circles, blemishes and imperfections with fingertip or concealer brush under foundation. Buff on foundation over concealer as normal. Use sparingly. Only a small amount is needed to obtain the desired effect.
Blush
Loose mineral blushes are very concentrated and should be applied sparingly. The simplest way to apply them is with a cotton ball. Press the cotton ball onto the sifter, then tap the jar so a little bit of blush powder gets on the cotton ball. Then gently glide the color over the apples of the cheek and blend. If you prefer to use a brush, a separate brush for your mineral blush is recommended. Mini-bronzers work well. You can load your brush one day and use the same brush without reloading for several days. If you get too much mineral blush on, just buff over it with your foundation brush to lighten.
Eye Shadow
Any mineral pigment can be used as an eye shadow. Simply dip your shadow brush in and blend on your lids. Choose a lighter color as a highlighter to apply under the brow. Use a darker color in the crease just below the brow bone as a shader.
Eye Liner
Dip your liner brush into water then dip the wet applicator into your desired color. Mix the powder and water together on the back of your hand or in a separate container to create a creamy liquid liner. Dip the eyeliner brush into the liquid a carefully apply to the upper and/or lower lids, staying as close to the lashes as possible.
Body Shimmer/Highlighter
Use a powder brush and lightly touch it into the desired color (bronzes, golds, silvers and light pinks make beautiful body shimmers). Dust the powder onto your shoulders, face, chest for a healthy glow.
