Flavor Of Love - Ultimate Flavor of Love Guide

After his run on the VH1 shows The Surreal Life and Strange Love, the rapper known as Flavor Flav (former member of Public Enemy), signed on for a new show entitled Flavor of Love. The show centers around Flavor Flav's attempts at finding a female companion. In the same tradition as many previous reality shows, contestants go through a number of competitions that help determine which one he will choose.

On Flavor of Love, 20 female contestants move into Flavor Flav's home so that he can find a new girlfriend. One of the show's gimmicks has Flavor Flav giving all of the girls nicknames, with their real names only being revealed when they are eliminated. Over the course of 10 episodes, the girls are faced with a number of pre-organized challenges in addition to the usual catfighting that happens in most reality show settings.

In addition to Flavor Flav and the 20 girls, the show also includes his mother, his chauffeur, and his previous reality show romance (from The Surreal Life and Strange Love), Brigitte Nielson. The challenges on the show run the gamut from taking care of the elderly for an evening to being administered a polygraph test by Brigitte Nielson. The girls are even put into a position where they have to try and impress Flavor Flav's mother if they want to stay on the show.

Fans of Flavor of Love can find a wide range of show related materials on eBay. Whether it's pictures of the girls--including Pumkin, Peaches, Apple, Goldie, and New York--or DVDs of the first season, the selection is updated regularly as new members make items available. The show's popularity was such that VH1 ordered a second season. It should hit the airwaves by August 2006.
