When you are looking for a new or used piano, you have many different options to choose from. You must first decide how much money you are willing to spend on one. Then, you must decide what kind of piano you want, and wether you want a new or used one. If you want something to begin on, then you might think about getting a digital piano, or a keyboard. Digital pianos range from $500-5,000. Most have a very nice feel to them, and have a variety of different tones you can choose from, other than piano, like an organ, or harp. If you want something more, or something that has a better feel to it, then you might consider Up-right pianos, Studio, Spinet, or Console. Most of these run from $1000-10,000. They have a more... "realistic" feel to them. They are made of wood, unlike the digitals. Now, if you want to get something really fancy, or something that has a great feel to it, and has a great tone quality, then you might consider looking at grand or baby grand pianos. These are more expensive pianos. They run from anywhere between $5,000-50,000. These pianos have a nice, open feel to them (of course, depending on what piano it is and the condition that it's in). Some good brands for Digital Pianos are Casio, Baldwin, Yamaha, and Roland. Good Grand and other Piano brands are Baldwin, Yamaha, Steinway and Sons, Story & Clark, Bosendorfer (very expensive), and Young Chang.
