When you are looking for a specific sewing pattern the search can be long and frustrating. There are the times when you are out bid by someone at the last minute.
Learn to use your imagination! You can combine 2 patterns to get the features you are looking for and recreate the pattern that is hard to find, or selling for an arm and a leg on eBay.
Take a look at the pattern you want, what are the specific features that attract your eye? The fact that it is a wrap? the waistline? the length? Look at all the similar patterns you can find, from all the pattern companies. Many times I've been shopping for fabric and seen someone buying fabric to match the cover of the pattern envelope!
Let us use "wrap" as an example. The search engine on eBay also allows you to search the title and description, check this box. Take a look at other similar patterns. Try to "see" the features independently. Discount how the model looks or what the fabric looks like, some pattern companies have fabulous pictures, while others are very unappealing. Does this pattern have the features most important to you?
Think about your personal skill level. The length is usually easy to adjust, even for a beginner, and unless you are 5'7" probally needs some adjustment anyway! Adding ties or other details can be simple too. The difficult part is letting your imagination run free!
Good Luck!
