We hear over and over ~ how do you find what you want to sell? I've asked that question myself. Finding your niche can be as easy as looking around your home and asking yourself some simple questions:
Am I a collector, an artist, a neat freak..? You might consider selling along the lines of your passion. If you collect it, others probably do as well. Ever considered selling the pottery, pictures, sewing that you make. Are you extremely organized ~ you could sell items to help people to get their space cleaned up.
Do I enjoy shopping for new or do I prefer shopping at thrift stores, estate sales, and garage sales? You certainly wouldn't think of selling antiques or vintage if you don't enjoy looking through other peoples castoffs. Of course, you could do as many other do ~ buy new and resell the items you don't want anymore. That can be anything from books to clothing and accessories.
What kind of item makes you go "oohhh" when you see it? It could be anything from DVDs to baby clothes. You will do a better job of selling items that you love.
Are you an extrovert or introvert? Would you be confident talking to possible wholesalers and setting up an agreement with them? If not, look to sell items that don't require negotiations.
If you're still undecided, then start with items around your home. Anything that's good enough to send to a thrift store, is certainly something that could be sold on Ebay. Choose items that are clean, unbroken, and easy to mail. Pretty soon you'll find that your inventory is leaning towards a specific type of buyer. Go ahead. Jump in and get your feet wet!
