There's a huge abundance of packaging material available for eBay sellers of virtually any volume just waiting for you to pick up. You may never have to buy packaging again! Why is it important to recycle your packaging? With the thousands and thousands of eBay sellers (or is it millions?), you can imagine the amount of paper products being transported across the country. Upon receipt of the boxes, packaging material, and products, the customer usually throws the packaging away or recycles it. That means there is a lot of waste!
Of those customers that recycle the packaging, some post the packaging on Craig's List. Log on and search under your city or area, and you're likely to find many people with posts for packing peanuts, boxes, bubble wrap and more.
Another place to try and find packaging materials for free is any retail store, department store or shop, like Wal-Mart, your grocery store, Best Buy, Macy's...they all receive an abundance of packaging that mostly gets thrown away. Ask to speak to a manager, and they'll usually be happy to give away these products. Packaging takes up huge amounts of room in a dumpster, which costs money. You'll be doing your deed by recycling packaging and you'll get it for free! One other source to contact is your local post office. If they don't have free peanuts or packaging they can tell you where to get it locally.
If you absolutely must have brand new packaging, there are also places online to buy NEW recycled packaging. Simply google 'recycled packing peanuts' or 'recycled fill in the blank' to find hundreds of items for purchase. It's simple, easy and can be delivered to your door. Another place to look is usedcardboardboxes website.
For all of your boxes that you find are unusable, these can be recycled as well. Flatten each box and bring them all to your local recycling center. Most towns have one right at the 'transfer station' aka dump. Here are some other things you can recycle that you may not have thought of:
-
Gift Tissue

Shopping Bags, paper or plastic
