If you plan on purchasing or adopting a ferret anytime soon, you need to have a cage before you get your furry critter home! You might think that you will be able to let your ferret out when your home, which is alright, but when you aren't home to watch your little friend, you need to have a place for him/her to stay in! That's where the cage comes in..

There are many different size cages from you to choose from. But first, you need to find a cage that is completely safe for your ferret! You need to choose a cage that has metal bars that are close enough together so that your ferret can't squeeze out of it or get his/her head caught in-between the bars. Also, the very bottom of the cage should be made of plastic, or have a plastic liner that you can place at the bottom.

A large cage is ideal for your ferret. He/her will enjoy it also! Some cages will come with different floors so your ferret can climb around. That's what you should look into purchasing. Throw some toys into the cage for your little friend! Give him/her something to do while your not home.. other than sleeping. Make sure you get a cage big enough to accommodate these toys. Also, make sure you purchase a cage large enough to hold a small litter box, food and water dishes, and a hammock for your furry friend to lay in! Something that you should definitely avoid doing, is boxing your ferret in a glass aquarium! These are ideal for hamsters, and furry pets of the size. Ferrets enjoy open spaces to jump around, etc.

Some other things to consider getting is a cage that has little plastic tunnels for your ferret to travel in and out of! Also, try to get a water-bowl that is heavy enough so that it won't tip if your ferret decides to climb into it for some strange reason.. Just make sure you have a cage for your friend when you get home with him/her!
