If you want to fly around Europe, paying 30 $ per segment, try going to Ryan Air.com, Easy Jet.com or Airone.com. These airlines provide passengers with the most interesting, off the beaten path destinations in Europe. Obscure cities that service 2000 year old archeological ruins, like Trapani, Sicily. Important places like Geneva, gateway to the Alps. The websites will completely blow you away when you click to see prices. sometimes flights are as cheap as 1 cent  euro's, which is almost free. The catch is, and the only catch is, they want you to pay for the taxes, landing charge, security etc., which can add up to 50-100$. But the ticket is far less expensive than using a well branded airline, like Lufthansa, which could cost you upwards of 500 $ for the same set of flights, or more. The flights are weight restricted, meaning you cant bring more than about  thirty pounds of luggage per person, no sharing allowed. So, as long as you keep below this, you will be fine.

The key to an affordable european vacation, is finding the cheapest ticket to either London, Amsterdam or Frankfurt, and then hopping on these small regional airlines.
