I figured I should write this guide to blow the lid off of a scam I have seen by multiple sellers on eBay lately...
The demand for the Black label version of FF 7 is much higher than the Greatest Hits version. To compensate sellers will take empty black label cases and put greatest hits edition discs in them...
This is true for all final fantasy games on playstation except for FF 8 (VIII) which the discs look alike.
How to tell the difference....

A Black label FF 7 on the left, A greatest hits FF 9 on the right. Easy to tell the difference because the black label of FF 7 has a solid white backing.

A Black label FF 9 on the left, A greatest hits FF 9 on the right. These are harder to distinguish but if you look closely at the disk on the left you will notice a white/transparent picture in the background.
The original discs will have a white label over the shiny cd top then the black lettering on top of that.
The greatest hits discs will just have the black lettering printed on the shiny cd top.

What you can do to protect yourself from this growing epidemic:
-Buy your games from sellers who have good feedback and high ratings in their item description.
-If the seller does not have pictures of the dics in their listing ask them to post some.
-Always ask the seller questions if you are unsure. If they say they don't know if they are authentic black label don't buy from them.
