I have been both a buyer and a seller on E-bay. Feedback has become my newest pet peeve. I cannot tell you that I have studied E-bay's every rule and regulation regarding feedback, I simply know good business.
As a rule when selling, I will leave feedback automatically after shipping the item. To me this is simple, buyer are rated on the speed of thier payment and completing the auction. I refuse to wait and see if the buyer will leave me positive feedback prior to leaving the buyer thier feedback.
As a buyer if I am unhappy and the seller will not resolve the issue, one of my recourses is neutral or negative feedback. It seems that if I leave a seller less than positive feedback, they will retailiate with the same, regardless of the fact that I paid immediately, and tried to resolve my complaint the right way.
C'mon people, we all know there are problem people out there, but let's use feedback as it was intended. Sellers, if the buyer pays on time and is not a problem leave them feedback. Buyers, if the seller had done thier job and delivered your product and communicated with you, leave thier feedback.
Let's not use feedback as retaliation, or as leverage. Get in the spirit of ebay and good business.
