Feedback. Probably the most important factor to consider when purchasing an item. It lets you know alot about a seller, and makes you feel secure when you make the bid on a desired item. But have you ever really stopped to think about the feedback? Do you just blindly look at the numbers and bid? Most people do. But for your own sake and the sake of sellers and buyers everywhere, you might want to take these consider these feedback tips so you will truly understand the numbers.
-
First and foremost, how many transactions does the person have? Generally 99.9% out of 500 is just as good if not better than 100% out of 5. Check those numbers!

For most transactions, especially those where you will have alot of money on the line, look at some of those transactions. I have seen feedback profiles where over 50% of transactions have been for 1 cent e-books with free electronic shipping. Ebay forbids advertising for feedback, but it doesn't take much to figure this one out. People get away with this because people see 100% with 50 transactions and look no further. Do the math, 50 1 cent ebook transactions is 50 cents. So that persons account is worth 50 cents. WOW. Now that account may still be the account of an honest e-book worm but they don't have much riding if they decide not to send you the $500 XBox 360. Look and see people, it only takes a few seconds.

If you have followed the second step then it will help you with this one- any internet account is subject to hijacking. If a person has bought nothing but scrapbooking supplies and shoes but all of a sudden comes into possession of alot of high end electronics, be wary. These people will take your money, then cut and run. Please remember though, as with all this strange, you can find IT on ebay. That includes old ladies that suddenly decide to start selling ps3's and top of the line laptops. I'm just saying be careful with it and don't be afraid to ask questions.

Bad Feedback is a downhill slope. When you have bad feedback people are much more likely to decide you are trying to screw them than to try to contact you if there is a snag in the transaction. Take care of your customer and be prompt with your seller, especially if you have gotten a bad mark.

Feedback Hostage- hopefully this wont happen to you, but if it does you will get a message saying "give me x amount of money or i will leave you negative feedback". If you are unfortunate enough to recieve one of these, DO NOT FALL FOR IT. forward the message to ebat and let them take care of it. If you send them the money i can almost guarantee you it won't be your last. Plus this just adds fuel to the fire, these people think if they can do it once they can do it again. We all have to band together to kill this one out.
This concludes my first guide. I hope you found it helpful, and thanks much for your time!
