You know. I have a few concerns regarding this Identity Theft. I have now been fighting my credit for the past 3 years over Identity Theft. I have spent alot of money getting reports, hiring attorneys and all this. I also filled out a report with the FTC. However i got an email from the FTC which im sure was an automated responder. But i have yet to hear anything back from them. No letters, no phone calls, no nothing. I thought the FTC was suppose to help people who have had Identity Theft in the past??? I have had to hire my own attorneys and fight Experian,Transunion & Equifax to get my credit back. It took me over 2 years just to get in touch with someone at the Social Security Administration to get a Fraud Hold placed in my name. I'm sorry but i have no trust in our legal system anymore. I have been scammed by numerous people on ebay. Yet PAYPAL never does anything about it. As a matter of fact Paypal has shut down my account when i placed a (item not receieved) dispute on a buyer who i had purchased a very expensive autographed jersey from. They still have yet to respond to me. It has been several months now with that. But back to Identity Theft. I filled police reports and reports with the FTC. Neither of which have gotten me anywhere or have helped in any way, shape, or form. For 3 years now i have had fraud alerts on my credit reports so i will be notified when anything happens. I cannot get approved for ANYTHING because of this. I had over 14,000 credit inquirys on my credit repport within a 6 month period and nothing was done about it. I had to call all 3 credit bureaus and dispute everything. I had to send hundreds of certified letters to companys at $15 a certified letter. i have spent alot)I guess what i'm trying to say is. Your identity is very important. And once it is stolen it takes an act of congress to get it back. Just please EVERYONE be more careful about who you give your info out to. And to the FTC i would like to see the government get more involved with helping people who have had this happen to them (like myself) I believe if the government would put their foot down and make it harder for just anyone to run credit inquirys and junk it would make Identity Theft decrease by alot. In some way I just wish i could help those other people who have had Identity Theft in the past. Beleieve me i have been there and am still fighting with it 3 years later. I also think the FTC should allow people who have had Identity Theft more allowances when it comes to repairing their credit. The government can wipe our credit clean with a simple push of a button. Thier has to be some way that the FTC can prevent this from happening to thousands of people each day. I applaud Ebay however. Ebay does its very best to prevent scams and other criminal acts on their website. (Paypal however needs to retrain their staff or hire more staff in different states) because Paypal has had ALOT of issues with ALOT of legitimate people. Yet Paypal doesnt help them. They assume the worst and won't change their minds.
