Both Federal Express Ground and UPS are extremely close minded when it comes to attempting to recovering insurance for items damaged in shipping. We had a Hobart Slicer and 2 Cecilware Cappuccino Dispensers destroyed by both shippers and lost all three cases because each of the receiving customers did not save the packing materials and package for the shipper to inspect. IF YOU OR YOUR CUSTOMER RECEIVE A DAMAGED ITEM SAVE ALL MATERIALS RELATED TO THE SHIPPING AND HANDLING. Take digital photographs if possible and write comments on the shippers signature sheet if you receive damaged goods. Shipper's, if you want to be safe take the item to a UPS or FedEx shipping service and have them pack the item for an additional fee. Follow these same tips for USPS items which can also be difficult in recovering damages.
