Fall 2008 Shoe and Boot Fashion Trends Guide

Yes, Venus Shoe knows there's a lot of Summer left, but it's not too early to start stocking up for cooler weather, either! This fall footwear becomes bolder, more colorful and chunkier than last year, showing off belts, rhinestones, buckles, laces, and ties. Flat or Low-Heeled Boots.

One of Fall 2008’s hottest looks is the comfortably forgiving and foot-friendly low-heel or no-heel riding boot. These are fashion boots that you can wear everyday, while you stay comfortable and glamorous. Wear them with designer jeans tucked inside for the best casual look. The boot below, reminiscent of saddle seat riders, are particularly edgy. Ankle Boots

Front runner in well dressed women’s wardrobes will be the ankle boots . We’ll see them in every shape, color and style again. In a twist however we’ll also begin to see them grow rhinestones, cuffs, lace ups and more. Gold on black, ever sleek and chic in Fall, finds a stylish application in the first pair pictured. Ankle boots look great with short or long skirts, dresses, and jeans. Avoid wearing them with cropped pants or tights, mid-length skirts, pencil skirts, shorts, and capris. The slimming effect of ankle boots work best when worn with matching opaques, especially in women with thicker ankles or shorter legs.

Metallic Flats or Stoned Flats

It seems like flats are always in style, but this foot friendly style features more sugar too this Fall. Crystals, rhinestones, flowers, laces, exotic fabrics, but especially silver metallic (as opposed to gold) are the order of the day. Popular runways show models in metallic silver flats under wide grey pants with knee length coats, or paired up with tweed suits. Think “boot with an identity crisis”, cropped at the ankle like a shoe. They began appearing on runways last year, then got serious star power lift-off when Gwyneth Paltrow and Madonna were spotted wearing them. The momentum is still going strong, making these the hands down winner in shoe fashion this Fall. Shoot boots work best with short skirts or long tunic tops with a matching dark opaque tights or stockings. Whatever you do, don’t try to hide this chunky style – they are meant to be seen!

Exotic Skins

While leopard and cheetah stays hot (when are they not?) python and croc are coming up strong. Exotic skins are sexy…and busy…therefore if they’re on your feet, make sure they stay there! Skin prints look best with solid, natural earth tone outfits. Try black, red, grey, browns, whites, and beiges.

White Boots

Yes, we said white boots …after Labor Day! The old rules simply do not apply this Fall. We will witness the rise of the white boot in modern stretch fabrics, from plain to heavily adorned again in elaborate zippers, stones, buckles and whatever else you can glue or stitch on a boot.
