I thought this might be helpful to anyone buying bracelets from the Thoroughbred Collection of David Yurman on Ebay, particularly 10mm cable.  Just briefly, some tips on spotting an authentic item, as opposed to a fake:

Did you know that Yurman 'marks' some of it's newer collection pieces??

I recently purchased a 10mm Yurman cable bracelet from a reputable Ebayer, a jewelry store that also purchased estate and second-hand pieces.  They had excellent feedback, and sold high end items, so I thought that if they listed an item as being real, it must be real.  Even these sellers can be duped!  Luckily,  I already owned a bracelet that was bought from a Yurman retailer, so I had something to compare it with.

The bracelet that I bought from Ebay had the gold tips 'dinged' in many places, which made me justify in my mind the low price.  Actually, the bracelet was SO authentic looking, I'm not even sure that the selling Ebayer knew it was fake.

I know that the older pieces may have the words 'sterling' or 'ster' written on them, and because this piece was newer, it had the international equivalent of gold and sterling (585, 925).  But seeing these in photos is not enough.

A real Yurman has the 'lines' of the hinges line up with the 'lines' of the bracelet.  In other words, the hinge 'lines' won't go left to right if the lines in the cable bracelet itself go right to left.

The newer Thoroughbred Collection has a Thoroughbred hallmark.  Not only does it have the letter 'c' in a circle right before the words 'D. Yurman' (the copyright symbol and "D" "period" "Yurman) and the designations of the content (i.e., gold (585) and sterling (925)), but at the end of the sterling designation (925), there is an insignia showing that it is the Thoroughbred Collection.  That insignia looks to me like a capital J and a C intertwined, but it is really a 'T' "C" intertwined, standing for Thoroughbred Collection.

Luckily, this selling Ebayer has excellent feedback and offers a money back guarantee if there is a problem.  I hope they come thru on their guarantee.  Just wanted to share these tips with you so that before you bid, you can  look out for these things, just in case you purchase a bracelet that is final sale.

Good luck!!
