To start, I am disgusted by the number of fake surefire products available on Ebay. This guide is meant to help you distinguish these rip offs from the real thing.

1. Serial Numbers. All surefire products have serial numbers, and they usually start with A. the numbers afterwards are the individual product number.

2. Patents. Surefire holds numerous patents. These patent numbers are also on the side.

3. Price. Surefires' are expensive for a reason. If something looks too good to be true, it probably is. A 500 dollar light with a starting bid of .01? I don't think so...

4. Warranty. When you buy a surefire, it has a lifetime warranty. When you buy an Ultrafire, Microfire, Solarfire, xxxxFire, etc. ? No warranty. If it breaks, you're stuck saying "gee, I wish I had bought a real light."

Hope this helps!
