Always CHECK the perfume or cologne you purchased from eBay! Get it verified and checked at a major Department store that sells the perfume. I always take mine to Macy's to get the perfume or cologne I purchased from eBay and they were all verified as"FAKES"!

DO NOT KEEP THAT FAKE PERFUME! GO TO UTUBE AND WATCH "FAKE PERFUMES" THEY TESTED THE FAKE PERFUMES AND FOUND OUT THAT MOST WERE DILUTED WITH GOATS URINE OR ANTI-FREEZE IN THEM!  I cannot post the utube video in here, but you can check it in my about ME and click on the link. Hello. Thank you for taking the time to read my guide. Why am I writing this guide??? Well, the answer to that question is, because this is my fourth time purchasing a Designer Perfume and finding out it is a "Fake"! I'm fed up with seller's passing up these knock-off/fake, perfumes and cologne and trying to pass it as the real thing! It's time I make honest buyers be aware of this scam!

In case you aren't aware of this, MANY (estimated to be over 50%) of the "100% guaranteed authentic" designer & big name brand items you see on Ebay are 100% FAKE!   Replicas are sold all over the internet so they end up on Ebay. This guide is to show you some more information on the counterfeit situation and how easily these replicas are being purchased.

I would like to say that you CAN find AUTHENTIC goods on Ebay for wonderful deals, I know because I've gotten some wonderful deals myself on authentic items. But, you MUST be a savvy shopper and know details about the item you are interested in before making a purchase or you could be out hundreds of dollars for a fake item that could fall apart in a short time.  The only way to confirm Authenticity of the perfume you purchased is to go to a high end Department store where they sell the perfume and ask to verify if it is real thing!

Think you are safe with a "money back guarantee"?  Not necessarily. Many sellers with fake items WILL issue a refund to reduce the chances of you leaving negative feedback to warn others but many are just out to make a quick buck and then disappear so the supposed "money back guarantee" is not honored.  Money back guarantee..got the FAKE item and they would not issue a refund.

In the past, raids on counterfeit goods have found perfumes containing urine as a stabiliser and alcopops containing anti-freeze. Poor quality labels and packaging on perfumes and cosmetics can often indicate that the items inside are not genuine.

Top tips to avoid buying fakes include:
~ Be suspicious about bargains. If something seems too good to be true, it probably is!
~ Examine the quality of the goods. Does the quality feel as it should?
~ Check labels and packaging for misspellings and poor logos.
~ Take extra care at street markets, car boot sales, pubs and computer fairs, or in other situations where it ~may be more difficult to get in touch with the trader after the purchase.
~Beware of counterfeit goods sold through the internet

You should not buy fake goods for the following reasons
~It is known that the sale of counterfeit/fake goods fund other criminal activity including drug dealing etc
~ Fake goods deprive the copyright owner of money that can be used to fund new development.
~ You may be putting local people out of jobs because genuine manufacturers can't compete with the criminals making and selling fakes.
~ You may end up paying higher taxes because people who deal in fakes don't pay taxes

Tips on buying original perfume at ebay:
~ Buy from reputable seller
~ensure that the seller guarantees the perfume is 100% original and has return policy
~ check the seller listings. Are the listings done professionally ?
~ check if the seller is paypal verified. Sellers of counterfeit products are afraid to disclose their contact information. If the seller is paypal verified, paypal has done its part to ensure that the sellers provide the right address.

REPORT COUNTERFEIT SELLERS!

Just leaving negative feedback is not enough!  You must use the "report this item" link at the bottom of the listing if you receive an item that you are CERTAIN is counterfeit, not just a "hunch".  And send an email to Ebay complaining about the illegal item.  This is the only way for Ebay to be notified!

How to file a Not as described item?

Go to your PayPal account. On the top righ t hand corner click on Resolution Center, after clicking on that click on the orange  box that say's Dispute a Transaction. After that click on item dispute(this is for not as described items). Then click on Find Transaction ID and click on the transaction you would like to report. You must do this within 30 days of purchasing the item to be valid. If your having problems, you can call PayPal directly at # 1-888-221-1161
