I noticed a guide from an Ebay user who is no longer registered that has alot of errors in it and is misleading Ebay users.

1. He states that the Authentic jerseys are ONLY made in Korea. Not true. You can go into any NBA sore or any jersey dealer like Sports Authority, Hibbett, etc. and find that the jerseys are made in China, Korea, Viet Nam, and more. You can call the NBA store, even the one in NYC,NY and they will tell you the same thing. My friend gets them in his store and says that the many jerseys are made in Korea and shipped to Hong Kong then to the USA. If you place an order for 50 or more you can get them for $20 each ($1000) plus $30 to ship.

2.He lists the jersey sizes as follows: the sizing for Adidas is as follows: Medium-40, Large-44,X-Large-48,2X-Large-52,3X-Large-56,4X-Large-60. Incorrect. the sizes are: 44:Xsmall 46:Small 48:Medium 50:Large 52:XLarge etc. You can find this at the NBA store website.

3.Some of the newer tags have the Hologram while others do not. So not all the tags will have the hologram as some people state.

4. The stitching on an authentic jersey is obvious. The Lakers jerseys are white, yellow, and purple. There are actually 2 shades of purple. The one with the Length+2 is actually the lighter shade of purple.

The problem with fakes lies in the fact that there is not a lot of uniformity on where they are manufactured and the quality will never be perfect. Often you will get mismatched size tags, missing retail tags, stains, etc. Look for the stitching quality, anyone can copy a retail tag. Look for the adidas jock tag and compare it to a known authentic although some will say a number for a size while others with the Length plus 2 will have a number and the size on the jock tag. The manufacturers need more uniformity to avoid the fakes. It's the same concept on the Chi flat irons. the fake Chi will have an R with a circle and the real one has TM. The fake has a sticker saying made in China while the real on has made in Korea stamped in. The newer ones have 3 pronged plugs while the fakes do not. However, the fakes look a hec of a lot like the real deal. All the Chi irons are junk weather they are authentic or not as they have a high return rate because of malfunctions.

Bottom line: If someone makes a product in their basement and it is just as good as the authentic one, get it for a fraction of the price. If its not, you can tell. You will have to pay for quality usually.
