I recently purchased, what was advertised as a "Brand New Motorola H700 Bluetooth Headset" . What I received was packaged in what appears to be a real Motorola plastic package, but it was not sealed. It opened easily at the seam. Included in the package were operating instructions for a different Motorola headset, Model H500, and a wall charger that looks to be a genuine Motorola part.
I had to download the correct instructions in order to use the headset. It seemed to operate as the instructions said it should, however after charging the headset battery only lasted about 30 minutes, (advertised 6 hours), and I was told it had an echo. I talked to 3 different people, got the same comments from each.
I started researching and found 2 different places to verify that I had been sold a fake. First was from Motorola (http://www.motorola.com/mot/doc/6/6513_MotDoc.pdf), this fake was exactly what I had. The second was from e-bay reviews (http://reviews.ebay.com/H700-Original-Vs-Fake_W0QQugidZ10000000002125013). This headset is Fake #3.
The real headset has a Bluetooth logo (it's a small blue oval ), the word Motorola, just under the earpiece and a serial number just to the right of the logo. Mine does not have any of these markings.
There are other reviews that show the real headset in better detail. The markings are close, but not correct and the headset is poor quality.
