There are some very simple rules to remember that will help you avoid buying reproduction cookie jars.  It won't guarantee you won't get fooled - we all can - but here are a few sure fire things to remember.

McCoy NEVER made a Little Red Riding Hood Cookie Jar- NEVER.

McCoy NEVER made Disney Character Cookie Jars - NEVER

McCoy NEVER used a Brush-McCoy mark - that's right!  Every cookie jar marked Brush McCoy is a reproduction of some nature.  Brush McCoy only existed in the 1920's which is long before figural cookie jars were used, and even during that time there was never a Brush-McCoy logo or mark.

McCoy NEVER put gold on the Leprechaun, TeePee, Indian or Mammy.

Because reproductions are smaller than the originals, compare heights to those in reliable reference books or email us, McCJS  with your questions.

We have collected jars for over a decade, have owned over 1,200 vintage cookie jars and are the editors of the McCoy Lovers' NMXpress which is in its twelfth year of publication.  We will gladly provide you with any information that might be helpful to your cookie jar purchase.

You can find more information about McCoy cookie jars and pottery, reproductions, and 'McCoyLovers'  by visiting  our About Us    page. Best Regards,

Carol and Dan
