Due to demand by re-eanctors and such the extra large Stahlhelm in size 68 shell has been reproduced on the European Continent.It is a  Good copy of this scarce sized helmet but can be easily distinguished as a repro by the position of the liner rivets which are sited too low  down on the helmet bowl. The original size 68 helmet front rivets are positioned very close to the protruding ventilation lugs- approx 1. 1/2 inches away. Also the repro helmet frontal peak is noticebly longer and some repro. helmets appear to slope slightly forward when viewed side on. Respectable sellers state they are repro. However some unscrupulous types on European E-Bay have artificially aged, camo"d, rusted  etc. them to fool the unwary on E-Bay along with the tired old tales of Barn Finds, Belgian attics, German Cellars etc. Sold as a Repro they are priced around 100 dollars  or less---sold to the unwary much more... BEWARE!
