Purchase of Fake Lacoste Polo Shirts:  Is a good deal really working for you?  Is cheaper always better?

As many are introduce or sign up with E-bay for better deals or just want the comfort of receiving items without going to the malls...it's risky and not the greatest thing at times.  Since Lacoste started booming this year many have rushed out to purchase them.  I hope you take my example into considersation before actually deciding on purchasing a shirt on E-bay.

I signed up thinking I would get a bargain on some deals thru E-bay.  I myself as well as many others get ripped off or told something which is led to be the TRUTH however are MISLEAD and end up purchasing something FAKE.  A PERCENTAGE of E-bay sellers come across as great sellers trying to save you a buck or two.  For whatever please do not let this MISLEAD YOU!  They do not care and want to make as much as they can from you.

From personal experience I as well ran into fake, knock-off Lacoste shirts assuming they were "authentic". My first purchase was a lot of 3.  The gentlemen was an INTERNATIONAL SELLER selling the shirts at a GREAT PRICE!  I got 3 shirts for $50!!  As I received the shirts I noticed the feeling of the shirts felt extremely cheap!  they were heavy, and just had an ugly appearance to it.  I knew they were FAKE instantly!

I'll cut to the chase, out of 15 shirts that I came across on E-bay only 2 were authentic.  And those 2 were purchased individually!

Tips to look out for:

  • Never purchase items in large bulks!  If the auction appears to be extremely cheap its most likely a fake!
  • If buttons are plastic or say mother of pearls/Lacoste on them.  - Guess again....Fake!
  • Lacoste logo (crocodile) appears to be glued on...it's fake!  They should be sowded on and not appear to be a 3-D look
  • The crocodile should line up below the slit where the buttons are found.  (never above - Fake)
  • If the auction starts at $15-20 it's a dead give away.

Some sellers tend to say all the right words, such as:

  • Mother of pearl buttons
  • Devanlay label
  • Designed in France, Made in Peru
  • Brand New with LACOSTE Swing tags and polybag

You name it...they say it!  But does the truth really speak for themselves?  I recommend reading over user's feedback and actually taking the time to read up on them before actually coming to a decision and purchasing any shirt(s) online. Best of luck!
