Lately there have been several sellers on eBay who advertise Yugoslavian Model 1948 bayonets as German WWII issue.  They show a Waffenampt (military acceptance) marking on the reverse pommel , in the wrong location, which is larger than the normal marking, usually with the  number WaA629.  These bayonets were NOT issued by the Germans during WWII.  Think about it for just one second... how would a 1948 bayonet be used before 1945 when the war ended?    These markings have been added to "enhance" an otherwise inexpensive item simply to drive the price up.  Private auctions with an overseas seller are the norm on these altered items.  Buyer beware.

Genuine marking on the left.  FAKE marking on the right.
