We, all the same, come here to find the best price on the best products, but here also the place for some sellers rip us off from selling fake products. With this few lines, I hope we can spot out "THE SELLERS" by giving negative feedback; as a result, they will be knock out of Ebay, and we can keep the bay clean.
Where are the products from: China, Hong Kong... If you want to try out, this is a sample link: www.globalsource.com. These products are very cheap just a few dollars
Why they are so cheap. Cheap Labor??? The answer is fake. You don't have to concern about what brands. They are just some labels, printed out, stacked on the products, which is freely done in China, Hong Kong...
How to spot them out less than a minute:
Check the capacity:
Do a format to make sure the capacity is correct in case they over write the manufacturing configuration
Check the speed:
Copy some files such as images or videos about 100MB or more. This is the rule of thumb 1x = 150KB/s, for 100MB.
* SanDisk II 15MB/s required 7s
* SanDisk III 30MB/s required 4s
* SanDisk IV 40MB/s required less than 3s
* 150x = 22MB/s required 5s,
* 266x = 39MB/s required 3s,
* 280x = 41MB/s required less than 3s.
The time may vary 1-3 second due to your computer, and number of current processes. Very importance, a regular card reader depended on brand usually have the speed vary around 60x (despite of the USB 2.0 can handle 480MB/s). If you have a UDMA card reader, you can test it out precisely for a UDMA can handle up to 300x.
However, if you got some thing like I got around 40s for 100MB. It's comparable to 15x. Which is more than 3 years old technology. That explains why they are so cheap. Because those snail card cost only a few bucks, and none of us want to use them any more.
I hope after reading this topic you and I will have some actions to clean up the ebay. Please
1. Test your memory card speed before leaving a feedback.
2. Contact the seller and return the memory card if possible
Remember you are now protected to do the right thing from ebay.
