Hello All,
I just want to share this little piece of information with you. As we all know we receive a lot of fake eBay emails everyday and trust me more then often a lot of people do become victims of these fakes who pretend to be from eBay. I have a list of emails that we have got in last week only
1) Customer want to buy an item and sends a link to go to the item and quote a BIN price. And of course when you click on the link it says sing in to see the item.
2) Most common one is account suspended.
3) Especially for buyers: email will say you have a unpaid item and the seller is requesting a refund FVF credit resulting in your account suspension or a strike.
4) For sellers... you have been awarded a star and please sing in to accept.
5) The more recent one I have been getting is you have been awarded powerseller status and sing in to accept.
6) Iphone seems to be one everyones top list and there are lot of fake emails circulating around about fake sellers trying to offer you a GOOD deal on iphone just a click away.. and i had a friend who just couldn't resist a deal and singed in just o find a blank screen and her account taken away.
Well I do think we all take care of the little things eBay always tell us but sometimes more out of curiosity, panic or rush we tend to fall pray to these pricks.
I think the best thing to do is even if the email is genuinely from eBay (where they will never ask us to sing in) just open a new tab and go to ebay.com and sign in from there.
Hopefully this guide will help some of you to be a little more careful in future.
We would do anything to keep eBay a safe and enjoyable thing for all.
Happy bidding!!
