This past week after bidding on two different giftcards being sold by two different sellers(one was a powerseller), I have received emails telling me that I won them at very low prices. They claim that I won by default and that I must respond ASAP. These are not valid ebay emails. Do not click on the links or anything else. Unfortuantely I did on the first one I received and was fooled because it did send me to the ebay listing. I do not know why someone is sending these because they are not pushing very hard for the money. I did write to the one seller and they told me it was valid, so I asked them to send me an ebay invoice and of course, they didn't.
In order to be careful- make sure the emails that go to your regular email address are also in your ebay messages.
Make sure the item is in your "Won" section- because both times the listings haven't even ended yet when I was being told that I had won.
Do not agree to pay someone outside of Ebay- its a big risk!
The emails so far have come under two name and email addresses & I have received 5 of them. The person or persons doing this are not very skilled because they made the mistake of using two different names for the same seller.
These names are: John Simmons and Cochici Adrian
Emails used so far- cornel.cochici & cociadr( both were @gmail.com)
I have sent numerous complaints to Ebay and so far the one listing is still running. However when I forward the e-mails, I am being told they are not from EBAY.
Please be very careful!
