Hopefully, this guide will help ebayers who are interested in purchasing Nike Air Max 360 running shoes on ebay.   First and foremost, people should understand that if a deal seems to good to be true, it probably is.

I recently purchased a pair of Air Max 360 running shoes on ebay.   I was delighted to think that I scored a $160 pair of shoes for $80.99.  When I received the shoes, I initially thought I got a great deal, until I decided to research further.  Upon inspection of the box, I realized that the seller had marked out the color of the shoes on the box with a black marker.   Despite this, I could still read the color on the tag, which read Black/White, in which the shoes I purchased were Blue/Grey.  This made me suspicious, so I decided to read guides and reviews written by other very helpful ebayers.

If you are OK with having shoes that look very much like an authentic Nike product, then so be it, but I was more worried about function.  In one of the reviews I read, it states that the real Nike Air Max 360s have a soft, rubbery underside (silver part) of the shoes, whereas a replica has a hard plastic underside.   By underside, I mean the part of the sole near the heel in which treads are attached.   So, I grabbed the pair of shoes I received, tried to push in on the silver part of the sole, and sure enough, it didn't budge.   I could tap on this part of the replica, and there was no question it was a hard plastic.

I then went to a local mall, did this same check on all colors of the real Nike 360 Air Max running shoes, and sure enough, the real Nike shoes have a soft, rubber, underside.   There a very distinct difference.   You should be able to push in on this part of the shoe, and if you cannot, and it feels like hard plastic, you got a fake.

I contacted the seller of the shoes, and told him I was highly disappointed that I did not receive the item as described (original box).   I told the seller that if I did not hear back from him within 24 hours, I would file a complaint with ebay and paypal to recoup my money.   The seller responded stating that he would refund my monies when I shipped the shoes back and that he would contact his "provider" to let them know about the situation.   I have sent the shoes back, but, it remains to be seen if he refunds my money.   The seller seemed to be genuine in his attempt to fix this for me, but that remains to be seen.

In conclusion, if you are in the market for a pair of Authentic Nike Air Max 360 running shoes, make sure that you contact the seller to ensure that they are 100% authentic Nike and not some knock off.   If you get them, and the silver underside of the shoes are a hard plastic (you can't push it in, or it makes a loud plastic sounding noise if you tap on it with a coin), you have more than likely been duped.   Think about it, Nike would not develop a running shoe that was not tuned for impact with the ground, in which hard plastic certainly does not meet this criteria.

I hope this review helps when deciding whether or not you purchase a pair of these shoes off of ebay.   Ebay is a wonderful thing, but if you are interested in getting 100% Authentic Nike shoes, your best bet is to head to your local mall, and purchase from a store that is actually selling the real thing.
