To see 'As worn by Brad Pitt' in an Abercrombie necklace auction has become the same as seeing 'George Washington Slept Here' outside a cheesy hotel that was built in the 1950s. There are several EBay sellers that have a seemingly unlimited supply of the necklace Brad Pitt wore in the movie 'The Mexican' and that was manufactured by Abercrombie and Fitch in around 2002. Chances are these were not manufactured by Abercrombie. Take into consideration that Abercrombie produces limited numbers of each piece of jewlery. Chances are each store gets no more than 5 - 10 pieces of each style of jewlery and Abercrombie never re-issues a popular style once it sells out.

They may modify a design, but never re-issue it. So the sellers who have sold close to 100 of these necklaces in a single month obviously either have a magic tree of Abercrombie necklaces, a time machine that can take them back in time almost 5 years when Abercrombie was producing these necklaces ... or have the ability to bend some wire and tie a few leather strings together and sell a fake one for $20.

These necklaces have become a pretty profitable endeavor on EBay and those IQ challenged people that pay $20 + $7 shipping to get a fake Abercrombie necklace enable this to continue almost daily. Consider that each of these necklaces cost $1 to make ... 25 of them sell each month ... that is not a bad profit of almost $500 a month. This is a pretty good business because new Brad Pitt sellers pop up almost weekly and EBay does absolutely nothing to stop the name Abercrombie being used to sell this cheap jewlery.

So if you absolutely must buy a necklace because Brad Pitt wore it in the movie the Mexican for about 10 minutes on screen ... hopefully you know that it is probably as fake as a $7 bill. If you want to drop $25 on a fake item so you can tell people you wear the same necklace that Brad Pitt wore in a movie ... more power to you. But don't complain the next time you get a fake pair of Abercrombie jeans, or sweater, or shirt or hat ... because you are condoning this sort of thing.
