I have been a beader for so many years & I have discovered something really cool I want to share with you. They are the "Funky" & "Sassy", "Simple" & "Classy" undisputed loveliness of the fabulous "FACETED PLASTIC BEAD" in colors like "Lusty Lilac", "Lipstick Red", "Blue Jeans", "Flamingo Pink" & more plus their many "uses". Let me begin by telling about them first...I ran into a lovely lady from Paris, France who turned me onto these and I thought I had died and gone to Heaven when I saw them, they were literally breathtaking to me. I really had no intention of selling anything on Ebay but when I saw these, I saw money signs, to be honest. The problem is that there seems to be a "taboo" about using these beads. The reason for that is the ones in stores that we have been subjected to have been of very poor quality with rough edges, huge ugly bubbles inside and the colors have mostly been "NEON" which is great for little kids. What I am talking about are the fabulous "Faceted Plastic Beads" that are not sold in stores. These are the ones that are in the most gorgeous colors such as "Lipstick Red", "Blue Jeans", "Lusty Lilac", "Gothic Black", "Flamingo Pink", "Victorian Rose", "Coral Rose", "Emerald Green", "Ruby Red", "Magenta", "Chocolate Fudge", "Expresso" and on and on with over 50 colors in clear or solid are what I carry. Simply Delicious. They are made by the same manufacturers that make glass beads but the most important reasons for using these are #1. They are in colors that so far have not been made in glass or at least I have never seen these colors in glass. #2. They are so much lighter than glass. Did you know that Vegas "showgirls", Fashion Runway "Designers" have been using these for years? Why, well because of the same reasons I have listed above. Now not to give myself a pat on the shoulder but the ones I carry are also very smooth and have very little if any at all, rough edges like those sold elsewhere. They also come in all kinds of sizes from 4mm + up plus 6x3mm spacers. You know, the only way you are going to find out is to buy them whether you get them from me or not. I have many many repeat customers who have praised my beads over and over again. I am sure you have run into the same problem I have over and over again whether it was a pair of earrings, a necklace or a bracelet and that is the weight of the creation. Wearing a heavy piece of jewelry is so uncomfortable. Even if you love glass beads as I do then use these as spacers, between the gorgeous glass beads. They won't stand out as if they don't belong. They will look just as beautiful as the others. The holes can accomodate one or several thin beading chain, wire etc but are not huge at all. They look great with beadcaps too. All I am asking is that you give these a try and you will be back for more of that I am sure. Oh and you know what, I have em in carved roses too. Remember them from the old days? Well I have them in some really creative colors also. Hey, have some of the colors in scalloped leaves too.
SUGGESTIONS FOR USE: Since we are beaders and know how to make the usual earrings, necklaces, bracelets, etc. here are some other uses for the beads:
Dinner Party or Wedding Tables...I did this myself...I got some fancy wine glasses (can use plastic wine or champagne glasses too) filled them with Pink AB cellophane shreds, layered with coordinating beads, put little votive candles in white or cream color (very important cuz colors such as blue, green, wine etc give off less light) then threw more of the same color beads around the votives and the filled glasses, lit the candles and Voila, Sparkle sparkle everywhere. You could even put flowers or feathers etc in the glasses for more Pizzaz. You had to have seen these. I got so many complements. I mean you would have to do your own thing but you are the creator so WOW your family and friends.
How about the man in the house who loves to fish. That's right "fish". Here's what I mean. Take some fishing wire or one of those swivel thingees (he'll know what I mean) and string some bright colored beads, then a lure, fake worm, bait or whatever and the hook. The beads will sparkle in the water like colorful little fishees or worms and he'll catch the big "fishees", get it??? Pretty cool Huh???
Ok, last idea..whether it be summer vacation or school days off or how about a fun Birthday Party these make a great party activity and favor for them to cherish and take home. Just buy the brighter colors that the kids today like, throw them in colorful bowls, buy some stretchy string and let them string their own bracelets and necklaces. Even alot of the boys of today love to wear beaded bracelets.
Well, that is all I have for now. I hope I have enlightened you about the "taboo" of the infamous plastic bead and now realize that they really are just as "fantistic" as most glass beads. Thanks for picking my guide and as always...Happy Beading!!!!!!
