There are many ways to get free shipping supplies but to get them from one shipper, e.g. USPS, UPS, FEDEX, etc., and using them for another shipper seems to be more work than needed. I know there are a lot of sellers selling "blank" labels you can use for shipping, but once they arrive at your door you'll see they are nothing more than labels you could have ordered directly from the shipper for FREE. If you use a particular shipper regularly them you can simply call them, or go on their website, and order free supplies directly. I'll address the most common carrier as it pertains to eBay -- United States Postal Service, our own USPS.
You can order many items from them, in various sizes, directly at shop.usps.com. They will not only allow you to order for free but also deliver free of charge, it's a win-win. You can order stickers, labels, boxes, envelopes, tyvex envelopes, tape, etc.. All you need to do is open an account and order. Once this is done you should take advantage of their shipping software to print labels. You can ship international as well as domestic labels on their website and if you do it that way they will also give you delivery confirmation for free (save 0.65 cents per shipment). All you do is print the label, attach it to the box and ship - no hassles. The biggest downside to this is that they won't let you print out first class or media mail labels. For the most part, people ship via prioirty mail so this website is very useful. I understand that Paypal also offer printing of labels but searching through their system is a little more difficult and not nearly as reliable whereas the USPS website is very user friendly and allows you to keep a sortable database of your entries. The majority of what I ship is Priority Mail and I've found this system to work extremely well -- No cost for the supplies, free delivery and free pickup once the packages are ready.
The BIGGEST advantage of shipping directly with USPS -- their software doesn't fail and GETTING CREDIT BACK is easy, especially when compared to Paypal's shipping service ( Paypal gives you only one day to reprint a label and two days to void and get credit, outside of that good luck -- USPS allows you a full week to get credit back and sometimes longer without any hassels). Side Note: Paypal allows printing of 1st class and Media Mail while USPS has everything else, including international shipping services.
Once you get used to the system you'll find it's a great way to save a few dollars on shipping as well as get better organized with your customer database. Once the information is entered into the USPS database you can simply select the contact and fill in the information automatically. It is very effective and efficient. It's also great for Global shipments, why write all those international labels and forms when this website allows you to print them out using your database of information.
To all readers of my guides, if you do find any of this information useful a "YES" vote at the bottom is always appreciated. If you don't, you can send me an email and tell me what would help to make this a better guide. I'm sure some sellers will find this information offensive and leave me a negative review but it is intended to only edcuate the buyer and not offend the seller.
