I recently purchased 2 Graded Morgan Silver Dollars from an unnamed EBay seller. I paid good money and at first the coins looked good and I was happy. Upon further investigation the coins were graded from NPG, which is not a real coin grader! The seller bought coin holders from coin world. Then printed an official looking NPG sticker with identification # for the coin, and put it over the coin world logo. I went back and looked at the auction pictures and you can not tell this from the pictures, you can just see a close up of the coin.

I reported this to EBay, and this seller has been eliminated. But I am sure there are more scams like this going on. Bottom line, I am stuck with 2 coins that look good, but have never been graded. The value is no more than half what I paid for them. I GOT RIPPED OFF!!!

I would suggest checking out the grading company listed in an auction, and making sure it exists and is reputable, before you bid.
