A guy I met who worked for Nike shoe company in Oregon told me a very simple method that determines fake Nike Air Jordan S from the real ones Retro or Original. Real Nike Air Jordan S will not bend in half. Their sole has a carbon fiber plate inside and they will not bend in half. Heck they will barely bend at all. Fake Nike Air Jordan S are made much cheaper than the real McCoy and when you grab the sole and try to bend the shoe in half they bend just as easy as any other athletic shoe you own when new.
I have purchased about eight pairs of Nike Air Jordan S some where gifts and I realized very quickly after the second pair I bought that when you are buying brand new shoes for a lot less than all the stores have ever sold them that there has to be something going on. I started to focus on buying the real ones and either paid a lot more or bought some slightly used with receipts from known stores that proved they were real.
When you try bending the shoes in half you will see precisely what I mean. Amazingly the real Nike Air Jordan S both Retro and Originals will barely bend. You would think there is a board inside they are so stiff. Try the fakes and they will with a little effort almost bend completely in half.
The pictures show two right foot size thirteen Jordan IV shoes in Pure White. One is a pretty poor fake and the other is real. Besides some other features that you would notice if you had both shoes. You will notice that one bends and the other does not. Most of you will not have the benefit of having multiple shoes for comparison. So just try and bend your shoe. Simple and VERY effective.
As long as buying the fakes are not illegal I have no problem with people selling them. But they should not sell them as Authentic. They are replicas and some are very close copies. Let us face it they are coming from the same country that makes the real ones and in some cases the same factories I am sure. The real Jordan S are worth more and are a higher quality shoe. The components you cannot see but can feel make the shoe perform better under athletic conditions. The eBay sellers who are listing real Jordan S deserve more for their merchandise than the sellers listing fakes and if sellers try and sell fakes as real ones they unfairly hurt their market. Not to mention they are unfairly taking advantage of the customer.
So when you receive your Nike Air Jordan S try bending them in half. If they will not bend you have the real Nike Air Jordan.
