FLY FISHING FOR BEGINNERS - PRACTICE IN A POND
I have been practicing my fly fishing techniques on a few stocked ponds in my area. Stockers are good practice if your a beginner. I would suggest practicing in a pond before tackling the wild - you can get frustrated especially if your going the self-taught route.
HERE ARE PICTURES OF SOME "NICE ONES" FROM NORTH CAROLINA & UPPER VIRGINA PONDS:
Caught this WHOPPER on a Sage Fli 690-4 6WT w/ Orvis Batten Mid Arbor III outfit - Using custom fly w/ rattler - that was a killer rush!!!
Same day - different WHOPPER. Same outfit and fly.
