Hi, There is always much controversy over feedback. When do I leave it? Should I leave it after I have already purchased items before from same seller? The importance of leaving feedback for all auctions purchased and sold.

First I would like to talk about the importance of leaving feedback on both the seller and buyer alike. As a seller, I am one of the few that actually leaves first feedback for my buyers when they pay for their auction. This of course leaves me open to buyers that are new or just excited to get their item that they forget to leave me feedback. I have over 1400 un answered feedbacks that would have been unique. But, I live by ebay rules and they suggest that all sellers do this in good faith. The sellers that have the most feedbacks are ones that wait for the buyer to leave the first feedback before they will leave one for the buyer. I don't have any thing wrong with that. I just want to let the new ebayers know how important it is to leave feedback for the seller within a reasonable time after they receive their purchase. This lets the seller know that everything went alright and the customer is happy... And don't forget to answer all feedbacks no matter how many times you buy from the same seller. This helps other buyers to know about repeat customers.... A seller that has repeat customers is doing something right...

COMMUNICATION IS PARAMOUNT.....

Yes, communicating is the best thing to do on ebay. This helps the seller get all information and lets them process your purchase. It is always best to communicate within 24 hours from end of auction. This is a must... Remember, the sooner you pay for your item, the sooner it will be shipped... Also, if you have questions for an aucion, please ask them before the auction is over, not after it ends. If you think you have messed up on a bid, just let the seller know and most will let it go. Buyers, please don't just ignore your responsibilities to the ebay Seller. If you communicate with them, you will find that most will be very sympathetic to your situation.

I am an ebay power seller of Shark teeth tooth necklaces, anklets, earrings, modern & fossil shark teeth for collections, jaws, etc. I have been in business for almost 40 years. I turned a passion from my surfer days into a business after I got home from the Viet Nam war in 1968. I was stationed at Fort Bragg, NC, and I used to take weekend passes to Mertle Beach, SC and hunt for fossil teeth (mainly Great whites), and sell them to the gift shops and jewelry stores.
