FEEDBACK ETIQUETTE

When do you leave feedback and what is considered proper etiquette? It is up to the seller and buyer when to leave feedback, however this is what I have found works for me.

Since, leaving Feedback is important to the eBay Community at large both from the sellers and buyers perspective; and it enables both parties to make a estimated judgement call on the individual parties business ethics and customer practices.

As a Seller: When first starting out on eBay I left feedback as soon as I recieved payment and the item was shipped. I have decided over the course of time that this does not work for me.

As I have left Positive Feedback for customer and never received feedback in return. I am sure this happens to many eBayer's. It would appear that many eBayer's are only interested in recieving their items and having your feedback without reciprocating the feedback for you. Whether this is due to busy schedules, newbie or just lack of proper etiquette is anyone's guess.

My new Feedback practices are to only leave Feedback after I receive feedback from my customers. That way I know that they have recieved their items and are happy with the transaction. If there is a problem with the transaction I would perfer to resolve it before any feedback is left.

As a Buyer: When purchasing items I leave feedback promptly when the item is received and is as described to inform the seller I got the item(s)  and a comment about the transaction in general.

Before purchasing items I also look at the seller's feedback and evaluate their positive feedback verses any negative feedback they might have received from buyers and decide if I am going to buy from them based on their feedback from other customers.

I would caution anyone one about leaving negative feedback. But I do know that some buyers as well as seller do deserve Negative feedback in certain situtations.

Negative feedback is there to stay unless both parties agree to mutually withdraw their feedbacks, which then become neutral.

Go to FEEDBACK FORUM and read about all the aspects of leaving and intrupting feedback scores.

Determine when you are going to be leaving feedback as a buyer and/or seller.
