It has come to my attention that FEDEX does not always scan their packages when they are picked up but rather when they get to their destination hub. This makes it difficult for sellers as the buyers think that the sellers have not shipped on the date that they said they did because FEDEX shows their first scan as days later than the date it was actually shipped. As a result, this will cause buyers to leave neutral/negative feedback for the seller as their thinking is that the seller has "lied" to them about the date that the item was shipped when in fact, it is FEDEX who is not doing their job properly in scanning their items when they are received and all along the way until they reach the buyer at delivery.
This usually only happens with Ground shipments, kind of the way you see it happen with USPS Parcel Post shipments, you won't see a scan there either until the USPS gets the package to it's final destination. The buyer on the other hand, has to make it the sellers fault even though the seller has absolutely nothing to do with delivery carrier procedures any more than the seller has anything to do with carrier delivery times which is also something that buyers like to blame sellers for.
I feel as long as buyers are respectful of the sellers listing terms and if they do have a question that they ask in a polite manner, and not threaten their seller, that everything can be worked out. After all, that seller more than likely just saved you a lot of money on your purchase, for which you should be grateful and not hateful.
