What are the benefits of Mary Kay's Mineral Powder Foundation verse other brands?

Unlike other mineral powders, this light-weight formula provides buildable coverage.  Unlike most facial powders, which provide sheer coverage, MK Mineral Powder Foundation blends for an even, flawless look that won't fade.  This transfer-resistant formula doesn't need reapplication midday.  (Can you imagine, ladies?!)

Does MK Mineral Powder Foundation provide adequate protection from the sun?

The short and simple answer is no.  While some natural minerals are known for providing some  protection from the sun, it is still best to apply a liquid SPF product.  Try MK Timewise Day Solution or MK TimeWise Moisturizer SPF 15.

Is MK Mineral Powder Foundation suitable for sensitive skin?

Yes.  It has also passed testing for skin irritancy and allergy.

How do I apply MK Mineral Powder Foundation?

First and foremost, cleanse (try MK Timewise 3-in-1 Cleanser) and moisturize (MK Timewise Moisturizer).  Please ladies, this is a must.  Your first, and best, line of defense is proper skincare!

When applying, please remember that, as with all MK products, less is more!  You need not apply all of the powder in the sifter.

Start in the middle of your face and work up and out in sweeping motions.

For most people, a single layer of application will be enough; however, if you prefer more coverage, apply lighter layers until you've achieved your ideal look.  Layer, not glob: that is the key here.

If you apply too much, buff away the excess with a cosmetic sponge.

How often should I clean my foundation brush?

At minimum weekly.  Remember, good brushes (Try MK's Brush Collection) will last forever if properly cared for.  Try using a makeup brush cleanser (I like Smashbox).
