I encountered FAKE or OLD Arbonne in my first purchase on Ebay and would like to warn others since I couldn't find much info on it- so here we go-

I tried the Arbonne RE line because a friend didn't care for it and gave me her entire set.  I loved it!  It was great but it was expensive and I ran out and threw out the empty jar of the nightcream, and decided to purchase more on Ebay- I was a good buyer, did everything I was supposed to as far as reading feedback, asked sellers about expiration date etc- and found what looked to be a reputable seller and purchased a jar of the nightcream. This seller has great feedback and all was from her Arbonne product sales- so sounds like a consultant gone wild, selling products where she shouldn't be, but I didn't care, since I wanted to buy it cheaper than $79.   When I received it, I thought it didn't smell quite like the one my friend had given me (which she had recently purchased from a consultant, so it was real), it was a little more punguent and smelled a bit like whiskey to me.  I wrote the seller and told her.  She assured me, she was a consultant and ordered weekly, and it was fresh.  She said the smell must be the batch and that there is almond, so it must be just how that batch turned out etc.  I took her word for it and used it up.  Meanwhile, One of my other friends then decided she was going to do the whole business with Arbonne and asked me if I would be interested in ordering, and I decided due to the weird smell of the one I bought on ebay, why not buy the real thing and compare the jars?  I ordered the real thing and it came the other day.  I took the night cream jar and compared it against the one I had purchased on ebay.  They were different in many ways!!  I was shocked because they appear to "look" right on the ebay listings.  Here were the differences- just so you know what to ask for.

Number one- from what I can tell from my friend, the best discount that a typical consultant can get is half off, so the price a consultant would pay would be $39.50 plus tax and shipping (although discounted shipping if they are buying a bunch).  If you are paying less than that, I would be suspicious right there!  I paid about $30 for the one I bought.

Next, the amount that was in the jar from Arbonne 0.95 fl oz.- the one from ebay 1.0 oz.

Next, on the front of the jar, the Real one has a small "TM" after the C and the RE9- the one from ebay had a copyright symbol after just the C.  (There are listings on ebay right now that I can see this copyright marking instead of the TM). This IS how it is listed on the Arbonne website, but this is NOT how it is listed in the catalog- the new jars are the TM ones, and with .95 oz.

Next, the fake or old jar has recover in two places on the front and the real one has it once.

The back is a real mess!  The back information is all different as far as there are some similar things- the Fake or old says "Usage" then has directions listed.  The real one has "Directions"  then the directions. Then, the real has French Directions and the fake does not have any French directions.  The Fake or old does have the arbonne phone number I guess to appear that it is real.  The real one has the Canadian address as well as US and the fake or old only has the real address- it goes ON and ON!!  The bottom of the jar has different numbers as well and the fake or old one includes letters, the real is only numbers and in different type.  The bottom is also a little more fuzzy looking and the real is very clear.

I think the front of the jar alone gives it away if it is new, old or fake- let alone the mess of the back.

I feel obligated as a seller of similar types of products and as a buyer to warn others of this fake product.  This is a product we use on our face, that is basically ingested by our skin and who knows what I was putting on for a couple of months or how old it was!!  I don't want to even think.

This might just be explained that it is an old product compared to what they send out now and that might explain the completely different appearance of the jar- BUT either way, who wants some old product that is who knows how old??

Ask the seller to see a pic close up of the front of the jar- and the back if possible and look at it and compare to these notes.  If they can't provide it or won't, I wouldn't buy it- AND if the price is too good to be true- it is!

Happy Ebaying and let's help each other keep this safe!!
