I also was fooled into thinking I could get a name brand usb flash drive for 1/2 the cost.  I bought 2 supposedly Kingston 8gb drives. When looked at in MY COMPUTER, they say there is 8GB capacity. I ran the program TESTDRIVE.EXE, which you can d/l for free. It checks what the drive SAYS is the capacity, then attempts to fill that up & then read it back...If it does, you got a good drive. The 2 I bought stopped at 4gb. The seller refunded my money & told me to keep the drives. I figured GREAT...I have 2 4gb drives for nothing...But NO.. These drives are totally corupt now & are worthless.  They are both in the trash. The ones I bought are Kingston white case with GREEN inserts & loop. I looked at Kingston site & THEY DON'T MAKE A 8GB DRIVE WITH GREEN INSERTS. Their 8gb drive is all black!  There are many of these bogus drives on here now. If you still want to buy one of these, run testdrive.exe on it before giving positive feedback. UPDATE: I just received a BLACK 8gb Kingston drive which is also FAKE! Seller wants me to prove it's only 4GB. I DID...with TESTDRIVE.EXE! Both the sellers I bought from had 97% or better feedback! That is because the buyers find out their drive is a bootleg AFTER they leave positive feedback. TEST ANY USB FLASH DRIVE YOU BUY. And if the price is real low, there is a reason.

How to test:

Download testdrive.exe
Open a command prompt window (Windows menu/Programs/Accessories/Command Prompt)
Connect the player to your computer. An external drive (e.g., "Removable Disk F:") will appear.
From the command prompt window, you're going to have to type in the pathname to the downloaded copy of testdrive.exe, followed by the drive letter that represents your player, e.g.
    c:\downloads\testdrive F

The program will tell you how much free space your device is reporting. It will then fill that space with random data. Finally, it will read back that data, comparing it to what it wrote.
If it stops before the stated capacity, it is a hacked fake drive.
PLEASE TEST YOUR DRIVE BEFORE LEAVING FEEDBACK SO THAT OTHER PEOPLE DON'T MAKE SAME MISTAKE!
