BEWARE of sellers selling FAKE CHANEL items on the site.

Another item has come across my desk late this afternoon and it pertains to FAKE Chanel purses/handbags being sold on the site.  While I am sure there are other watchful community members who have already created a guide regarding this important matter, I feel that the more these guides are found by unsuspecting bidders, the better.

This one particular listing caught my attention as there were a few red flags.  Firstly, the auction is a private listing.  It is a well-known fact that sellers who try to profit from selling FAKES on the site, will have their items listed as private auctions.  This way, the savvy knower OF the FAKES, are unable to contact the bidders who are about to be scammed by thinking they are bidding on the real mccoy.  Secondly, the starting price.  This particular listing started at $0.01 (one cent), combined with the fact that it is a private listing, stinks PERIOD.  Thirdly is the seller's feedback.  When a seller is selling knock-off or FAKE items, you can usually get a good judge of this by their feedback.  The particular seller in question has just that feedback.

I want the ebay community to be aware and educated on authentic CHANEL items.  You get what you pay for, so if its starting at a penny, chances are, you're looking at a FAKE.  Check your seller out.  Look at the past items sold.  Look for those private listings and KNOW what you are bidding on.

While ebay can prevent me from mentioning the username associated with these FAKE CHANEL purses and handbags, they cannot prevent me from alerting my community against the frivolous behavior of those scamming sellers.
